The day is cold and of course it is 25th dec 2002 the X-mass. It was getting dark when the neighbhours poured into the house. A Jain family was first to bring in rich thick tomato soup. A Walia family came in with a south indian dish (sorry, I do not know the name). A Sra family with three daughters came in next with noodles. A Sanghera family also came with Dokla, sweets. Two sons and a Hundal mother ware coming smilingly with some Salty dish. And believe me the johl family welcomed them all and filled in the remaining menu.
Space just below the Picture of Guru Gobind singh was decorated with merry X-mass Wording. A child turned on the cassette player and lo! there was no space left blank by the dancers. Of course the party was to celebrate the x-mass in a way that suits the families best. May be the religious drama was not there, but the true love of God was there in plenty. At exactly 9.00 pm there was Santa sitting outside on a tonga and distributing sweets to city childern. Again there was drum beating by the drummer that the santa brought along with him. The dance that started from a big room inside the house shifted to the street.
What a celebration! A tribute to the True Love of God.
