Introduction by Sahar Syed. Sahar is doing masters in Computer Science from Karachi.
Moize in his article, Biyaah, Talaq Aur Hamaray Amoumi Rawayyay, talks about the society’s general behavior towards matters related to marriage and divorce. He compares how different societies respond to the same matters in different ways. In our society, divorce is thought to be the start of a major conflict between two families and end of everything that was between them. Though there is a small proportion of divorce in our society but no good reason is behind this. It is due to the fact that in our society women are taught to compromise in every way...all the time. They are taught to live with their husband no matter whatever happens. In the west, divorce does not mean an end to all the bonding…the divorced couple though separated, help each other for the sake of the respect to the relation they had in the past.
