Khaamoshi
By- Khalida H Ashrafi

I have lots of hobbies, poem writing being one, comedy writing being another!! Im currently writing a short piece that has been commissioned by a Theatre company in London, about three asian middle aged women on a day trip to London. I am also trying my hand at amature dramatics, I have a part in a play due to be staged in November.I also compere at various events ( and my knees wobble every time!) when your own thoughts
even whispered
echo so loud.

when eyes speak
and are understood
in the midst of a crowd,

when the colour of a rose
hints at a song
when you hear a leaf falling
softly to the ground,
hardened with age
drifting with no sound.

The solitude
Of being alone
When a loved on
takes their leave,
The silence within a coffin,
Around which many bereave.
