A Better Life
By- Andal Aghoram

I live in Chennai, a city in India. I am 34 years and a mother of two daughters. You had asked for pen-picture of myself. I look fair, short and plump. A typical R.K.Narayanan's portrayal of a housewife. I love my home as it gives me all the happiness in my life. My next love is to read and sometimes to scribble a few lines of poetry. I read the various poems in this site they are wonderful. I hope mine too will find a place a among them although they might not be so good.

gaunt faces with untold sorrows,
written all over them,
hungry eyes waiting for each tomorrow,
hands eager to grab every moment,
wondering if they have spent it right,
snatching the smiles from others lips,
holding on to every persons lending hopes,
although they know that they are comforting lies.
I often wonder what it is to be terminally ill,
and i stop wishing for unattainable things,
when god has gifed me a healthy life.
A life with which i can help so many in a
thousand ways,
instead of moping around always complaining ,
that i wish i had a better life.
