Q 1: I am a female, 46 years old. I have acne scars that I have been trying to get rid of for many years. If my cells rejuvenate themselves, why won't the scars heal? Is there anything I can do? Also, is there something I can do for abdominal fat to make it go away? I tried different diets and exercises to no avail. Two years ago, I gained 15 pounds within a month and I haven't been able to get rid of it. I don't understand why. Thank you.

Shahnaz Answers: When scarring occurs, there is destruction of skin tissue. That is why it is difficult to minimize them. A combination of dermabrasion and treatments which accelerate cell renewal, your scars may be minimized. Total removal may depend on the extent of scarring. We recommend clinical Vegetable Peeling treatments. You can also follow a home-care routine, consisting of exfoliation and application of specialized products. In the morning, after cleansing, mix Shagrain with Shawhite and apply the mixture on the scars (BUT NOT ON PIMPLES/ACNE OR ANY OTHER ERUPTION). Rub gently on the skin, using a circular movement. Leave on for 2 to 3 minutes and wash off with water. Mix Shabase with Shasilk and leave on as a daytime protective cover. In the evening, apply Shafair on the scars if they are dark in colour. At night, after cleansing, apply Shablem on the scars by rubbing it into the skin and leave on overnight. Once a day, at anytime, apply Shatex on the area with scars. Wash it off! when it dries.

For your problem of abdominal fat, you should take advice from a health clinic and follow their program. You can also ask your doctor about a possible thyroid imbalance. This can be detected by a simple blood test and can be corrected through medication. After consulting your doctor, you can follow a low fat and low carbohydrate diet. Include raw salads, sprouts and unsweetened yogurt in your daily diet. If you do not have any glandular imbalances, there is no reason why a regular exercise and diet program should not help you to lose the abdominal fat. Yoga would be an excellent exercise for you, specially the yogic suryanamaskar. However, it is essential to do them under guidance and after seeking your doctor's green signal.

Q 2: Hi I am 19 years old, my hair root’s are oily and the ends are very dry, I am having oily dandruff, and spilt ends please suggest me what can I do for my hair, due to the dandruff I am getting pimples on my face and back and it is leaving the mark if you could tell me how can I remove this marks, I would be really grateful to you. PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Shahnaz Answers: You have an oily scalp. The hair is dry due to the clogging of the pores with hardened oil. Therefore, there is poor distribution of natural oil along the hair shaft, making the hair dry. This is a common condition in dandruff. You should cut off the split ends and then follow a regular hair-care regime for your hair type and problem. You should apply Shatone herbal hair tonic daily on the scalp, using cotton wool. Leave it on overnight. It is non-oily. Once a week, heat pure coconut or pure olive oil, or sesame seed (til) oil. Apply this on the scalp with cotton wool, rubbing gently to dislodge the flakes. Leave it on overnight. Next morning, apply the juice of a lemon on the scalp and wash your hair after half an hour. For shampoo, use Shahenna mixed with two teaspoons Sharinse. You should wash your hair at least 3 times a week. Use less shampoo, but rinse thoroughly with water. If the dandruff is severe, you can apply Shaoint once a week. Mix half teaspoon Shaoint with e! gg white and apply on the scalp. Keep on for an hour and wash the hair. Once the dandruff condition is controlled, the pimples will not occur. Wash your face with a medicated cleanser like Shazema twice a day. At night, after cleansing, apply Shaclear only on the pimples and leave on all night. Apply Shablem on the marks by rubbing it into the skin and leave on overnight. Wipe your face with Sharose 3 or 4 times a day to reduce oiliness.

Q 3: will it have any side effect if i use shahenna in combination with shagrow?

Vidyottama Vija

Shahnaz Answers: Both Shahenna and Shagrow are shampoos. Usually Shahenna is used in combination with Sharinse. Shahenna is a shampoo for oily hair, while Shagrow has a built in conditioner. It is not very clear why you would wish to combine the two. However, there will be no side effects. Use less quantity of both the products.

Shahnaz Herbals Shasmooth, under eye almond cream

Shahnaz Answers: Dark circles can occur due to hereditary factors, inadequate sleep, nutritional deficiencies, stress, etc. So, you should check these aspects of your lifestyle. You should apply products which are specially formulated for the area around the eyes. In the morning, apply Shamilk and wash it off with plain water after 15 minutes. At night, after cleansing, apply Shasmooth and remove with moist cotton after 15 minutes. Once a day, at anytime, apply Shaweeds around eyes. Wash it off when it is dry. You should use a sunscreen before going out in the sun. Two of three times a week, use a face mask, which is meant for your skin type. Apply Shablem on the dark marks on your back by rubbing it into the skin and leaving it on.
