Anticipation By- Khalida AshrafiI am a BBCD, (British born confused Desi!) by my own admission, although the confusion seems to be lifting, and has been, particularly over the past few years!!
I studied to Masters Level in Health Services Research, at Hull University. My area of specialism is Ethnicity and Health. I work at the University of Leeds as a Research Officer, I am currently evaluating a post natal listening service for Pakistani, Bangladeshi and Chinese Women, and despite how this may sound Im not terribly academic in the least! My other working interest is in offering training to professionals on Ethnicity race and health issues. |

Give me your hand
So I feel the anticipation
Within you,
Allow me
a glimpse of your fear
so we can stand before one another
unclothed of that
which holds us back
from sharing our truths
In the silent moments
I hear you breathe,
Sometimes quiet,
Sometimes deep.
And when your thoughts
carry you away
I wait
On the gentle shores of
Anticipation,
You could pass me on the street,
Like a stranger,
For we've yet to meet,
But some part of me
Has danced with your soul,
through the warmth,
through the cold...
