Que 1: One of my friends tells me that by not eating after 7 PM will help me loose weight. Does it really work?
Seema
Ans: There is no truth in this statement. You will only loose weight if you eat less calories than you expend during the day. If input minus output is equal to zero your weight will remain constant. if input is more you will gain weight and if this figure is negative - weight loss will occur.
Que 2: Is it true that green tea boosts your metabolism and helps you loose weight
Puja
Ans: Green tea boosts metabolism - I will reframe this statement - green tea is a good source of antioxidants and helps boost the immunity in the body. There is no direct relation to weight change.
Que 3: Can one eat low carb foods as much as one wants without the fear of gaining weight.
Sonia
Ans: There is no truth in this statement. Just beacuse a food is low in carbs does not indiacte that it is low in calories. For example butter and ghee have no carbs but are very rich sources of calories and the TOTAL calorie intake during the day determines weight change.
Que 4: Is it one and the same thing whether you eat just fruit or just vegetables in one day instead of both everyday.
Nadia
Ans: It is best to include a wide variety of fruits and vegetables daily in the diet because each has unique nutrients essential for health. Try to include 3 cups of dark green leafy vegetables, 2 cups of dark yellow and red fruits and vegetables in the diet every week.
