Multimedia forms an essential feature in designing a phone. Synaptics has created a custom MobileTouch interface which provides music controls for the Samsung SPH-B3100 mobile phone. The integration of the MobileTouch solution in the Samsung design illustrates the ongoing trend toward thinner, more stylized form factors, as well as the focus on delivering music-on-demand (MOD) services that give consumers instant access to digital music.
MobileTouch interface provides MOD controls on the outside of the clamshell phone and the sensor is mounted beneath the plastic of the phone. The interface modules designed by Synaptics are approximately 0.8mm, meeting Samsung's requirements for compact phone design.
