- Janmeja Singh Johl

Janmeja Singh Johl

A Play: "Mai ta ik sarangi Han"--I am only a flute

An emotional play depicting the troubled lives of three women was staged in different cities of Punjab and Chandigarh. Three women who decided to live together and when aged 60 and above are celebrating their friendship at a cool hill station. Suddenly they start rolling back into their past lives and this continues for 2 and a half hours and reaches the point where it makes it clear that each of the women was raped under various circumstances by men of different relations at their early ages. The play written by Dr. Atamjit of Mohali uses very strong musical and light effects. The wording also at times is very loud in nature and it creates uneasiness in the audience. But the show holds on till the lights are turned on. The fully paid hall has been booked for twenty more shows only in Amritsar. Other cities will have the shows later.
