In those Moments of Beauty
Sandhya Acharya

Sandhya, is doing MBA in the University of Notre Dame, USA. Reading, writing and music are her passions. She has studied German and is quite conversant with the language. She explains her view of life with - "My friends call me Dream Girl, not because I look like one (As you can see I am hardly a looker), but because I dream a lot. I believe that dreams sustain your today and build your tomorrow." As is evident, besides being talented Sandhya is also modest!

There are moments sometimes when the beauty of the whole universe envelops itself into a few moments and comes to you as a gift from the unknown. There are those moments when your heart feels light and overwhelmed with an inexplicable joy. Experiences of another world suddenly become yours. The past, the present, the future stand still and all that you feel is the beauty of those moments. Your hopes, dreams and wishes all have taken colors and give the sky, the grass so many hues. The air has a whiff of romance. Nature in its bountiful whole beckons you to it. Here you are in a new place, in a new phase of your life. Fireworks light the dark, lending splendor to the night sky, trying playfully to mimic the stars. Castles in the scenic background stand high and tease your imagination into those sojourns and magical adventures of the Tsars and princesses. Life is suddenly a fairy tale. The woods roll ahead endlessly bringing the nostalgia of your sweet childhood when you spent timeless days playing with the elves, the knights and wizards. Minarets of marvel, fountains of fancy... The waterfall gushes with innocence spraying its love on you like a mother caressing her child. You feel secure and free at the same time. One with everything around you. You close your eyes and tears stream down...tears of gratitude for the beauty you are experiencing, but you cant help feeling a slight remorse. Its strange, you feel a pang of longing even when you feel so satisfied. If only you could share this beauty. You reach out instinctively but your hands meet emptiness. Everything is perfect, if only you were not alone.
