Rani Mukherjee

Rani Mukherjee comes from a film industry family background. She is the daughter of Ram Mukherjee, director of Leader , starring Dilip Kumar and Vaijanthymala and Hum Hindustani. Her mother, Krishna Mukherjee, used to be a playback singer. Her cousin, Kajol, is a famous Bollywood actress.

Born on 21 March 1978, this light-eyed actress with a husky voice has a mass appeal. She is known to be a good-natured and lively person.

She has boldly tried a variety of roles in the span of a five-year film career. A series of unsuccessful films like Baadal and Had Kar Di Aapne did not dampen her spirits. She always looks ahead and keeps a positive attitude.

Her debut film, Raja Ki Ayegi Baraat, was made in 1996, but she actually became well-known for her film, Ghulam. The song 'Aati Kya Khandala" from this movie became famous. She is screen confident and comfortable working with top producers and directors. She has acted with all the top-class actors and has worked hard to make a place for herself on top.

She got the award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.

Rani Mukherji won the award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the film Veer-Zaara at the International Indian Film Academy Awards on 11 Jun 2005.

Rani Mukherjee is number 10 on the Top Ten Filmfare Power List, conducted for Filmfare by AC Nielsen ORG-Marg. Rani is the only woman on the list.
