Mr. Bhatt,

I was very impressed by your dream garden and more impressed by your attitude - that although your dream garden couldn't become a reality, you were happily sharing your knowledge, so that others could benefit.

Thank you for your generosity in sharing your dream garden.

Dear Mr Bhatt,
I am so glad I found your site on the internet. I have some questions if you can find time to answer them. I am in Australia and was fortunate enough to find Mogra plant here, I am not able to make it thrive, although it flowers well I can't see the leaves as green as they are in India. The weather is opposite here to India, in January/ February its summers. I would like to know if there is any special way to make it healthy. I really appreciate the fact that you are sharing your knowledge.
Thank you
anamika

Dear Ms. Anamika: I dont know what type of jasmine u have. I assume it is the bush type (mogra or bela) and not creeper (chameli. Bela or mogra has to be pruned during winter. In india it is the best time is end January or February. Meanns when the winter has peaked. Withoout pruning it would not blossom in the summer. This is basically a summer plant, and if you dont have the season as it is in India, I am afraid the result in your part of the world will not be that good. put normal manure and fertilisers what you use for other flowering plants. Happy gardening.
I remember the most spectacular show in a Chicago garden was the lotus which was in a hot house. Blooming pink lotus in a pond is something which you can come across very often in the countryside in India.

Dear Anuji: Thanks for the compliments. In case u are from India, ur garden must be full of colour just now. This is the right time for the seasonal flowers in the plains of India. Incidentally, I have found that orchids are the longest lasting cut flower. It can easily last for for a fortnight. It can be grown however in warm and humid climate.
