Read your article and found so much of truth ringing in it. I am into a sought after profession and have been into what people term a dream job for the past 3 years. I have chosen this line purely for monetary reasons. But an inner voice keeps nagging me that my dream and vision are different and have nothing to do with the pay. Money serves as a motivation only to the extent of realising your dreams and when you have the money to do that the dreams have gone..

Hi Rekha,

Just the thought that I was struggling to put in words. You expressed it so well. Yes, our aim should not be an increment or the size of house or our bank balance but what we have contributed to society, to civilization in general.

With that can come a deeper satisfaction, a better understanding of life. I know of people who work 12 hours a day and burn out by the age of 26 (the BPO types). Was it worth it?

On the other hand, can one live without money, like the soldier? They give their lives for our country to be paid so little. So does unpublished writers, poets, and social workers.

Very thought provoking and written in a very controlled style and voice. I liked it very, very, very much. Keep writing!
