I don't know much about Karnatak music but I should be unimpressed if I am told so-and-so Hindustani Musician has composed in 25 taalas. Then there is the bit about him having discovered a raag when he was two year old. I, too, discovered a raag when I was four year old. But I don't tell about it so that I may not damage my credibility. Not at all. I think it is one of the greatest contributions to Indian music. The 35 tala system is a unique one in Carnatic music. Most composers do not venture to handle it. He was tested by gaints right from Pt Ravi Shankar, Alla Rakha, M.S.Subbulakshmi and so forth when he was two years old. His demonstrations were covered by almost all the leading dailies in the world. I remember readig about him in Times of India, Indian Express and so forth. So, you cannot compare him anywhere with yourself.
