This is a very moving piece that Arundhati Roy wrote on all the nuclear war talk:

Also, a few days ago some people got together in DC, organized a peaceful procession and met with the ambassadors of both India and Pakistan to urge both governments to talk about peace.
Senaka Karunarathna comments : I am men but Ilike joint with your orgnisation
Manisha comments : You've raised a lot of good points and the point about employing kashmir youth in legitimate jobs will definitely get more of them to stay away from militancy. Why hasn't the Indian government taken major steps to encourage indigenous companies to form.
I know that any of the national/multinational Indian companies cannot set up in the Valley because the militants will blow them immediately so the only way is to encourage Kashmir owned businesses and companies to start up and set up. This will atleast one tiny step towards progress rather than putting all the pressure on the army to handles everything(which hasn't been going well at all).
