Charles Morris comments : What an enjoyable story "Rusted Keys Wait.." It is intriguing to think of how our ancestors lived. The decisions that they made, the hardships they endured. Mitochondria DNA seems to show that humans moved from one place to another. These women (and men) made global migrations. I wonder why. Neerja Vashishta hints that she would not lose the modern conveniences. Since they did not have our dilemmas, what choices did they have? Best to you in the South Asian Women's Forum.
I just happen to come across your piece "Rusted Keys..." Very touching. Partly so becuase I hail from Gagret too. Now I am settled in Delhi where I am Associate Professor with JNU which again was mentioned. Now I am at Hong Kong as Visiting Fellow with Center for Asian Studies (Hong Kong University) and will return to Delhi mid-July. I was just curious if you would like to tell me more about you. You could see more on me at http://www.csh-delhi.com/Staff/CV/singh.htm
Looking forward to hearing from you. Swaran
