One was of a Lingayat family and the other a Muslim and it was such a wonderful experience. Almost entire Bidar had seemed to be part of the celebrations. The Lingayat wedding was attended by many of the Karnataka political heavy weights of that time as the father of the girl was a politician. I had felt the weddings were a lot simpler affairs than the weddings I had seen in Punjab. Both were daytime weddings. Most of the pre wedding rituals were almost the same at both the weddings.
