Gouri Dange comments : Extremely useful article - thank you. Wanted to point out two small errors in language - the word 'spoor' is used by mistake in place of 'spur' i think. spoor means animal droppings. also the word 'expose' is not really appropriate for this kind of article - expose usually implies the revealing of some shocking news, etc.
The author responds: Dear Ms Dange: Both the words you call into question were deliberately used and neither usage is in error. Words can, and do, have more than one meaning. The word " spoor " also connotes a trail which is what I intended it to be. The word " expose' " (with an accent on the last e) also means a formal statement of facts or a formal disquisition. Regards, Rajan P. Parrikar
Sudhir Ramdasi comments : I don't have words to give thanks to the author for this fabulous collection. Just great article! Thanks a lot.

J S Pande comments : dear dr parrikar, the nephew of rajab ali khan you mention as "aman ali khan of the bhendi bazar gharana" was not this person .the nephew was "prof." amanat khan.this is the person who reached bombay , according to some accounts taught the mangeshkar sisters, and died prematurely. a good account has been published in the late a .a. a .hanfee's biography of rajab ali khan, available with the sahitya akademi, delhi.they had commissioned it. faithfully, jsp
The author writes: Dear J.S. Pande, You are right about Amanat Ali. I shall make the correction and acknowledge your input. Thank you. Regards, Rajan P. Parrikar

Chittranjan Mohan Gupta comments : Dear Sir, My knowledge in classical music had increased tremendously by reading your article since I discovered this site six month ago. Indian classical music would have been disappeared from the seen if we did not have people like you. Your amazing work is beyond explanation. The combination of your writing and Great Pundit Jha sahib explaining is helping people like me who did not grew up in the classical dominated area. I wish you could write more and more. I am a big fan of Smt. Kishori Amonkar and I can not get this shankara clip out of my mind. Could you please guide me where can I get this recording? You have so many clips of her which I can not find in a CD any where. Please tell me where I will be able to get this. I would like to meet you in person. I live in Dallas TX if you are traveling to the area please let me know.
P.S.: I have a very old yaman recording of Mrs. Amonkar, one my friend recorded during Sawai Gandharav . It is mind blowing( for me at least as much my knowledge of classical permits). I would like to share it with you if you want. Regards, Chittranjan
Rupinder comments : Hi Mr.Rajan! wonderful thing ur doen here. keep up the good work. you're keeping classical music alive. i particularly fell in love with one recording in this article ; Kishori amonkar's 'anAhata Ada nAda bheda na pAyo'. it is soo very beautiful. and i was wondering wether i could download it in some way?? its a realplayer presentation so it is not downloadable, but i really want it. Could you please make it downloadable or send it to me?? thanx so much god bless you.
Ramanand Athavale comments : Dear Rajan A truly wonderful collection of bandishes, thoroughly enjoyable. I particulalrly enjoyed Kishoritai's piece, the accompanist - I wonder who she was, because she was very good too. I read your contributions from time to time. The aroha/avaroha attachments are very useful for beginners like myself. My very best wishes- Ramanand
Sumeet comments : i shall be grateful if you could share the cd of Pt. Siyaram Tiwari.....
Nishad Matange comments : Sir, I am a student of Smt. Maniktai Bhide and therefore a great fan of Kishoritai's gayiki! The various recordings that you have posted here on this site are fabulous and have such amazing academic value for students such as myself. While i realise that most of them are unpublished and old (ergo priceless!), i was wondering where i could get the full length recordings of the excerpts. While i have managed to get several such as khem or kaunsi kanada, several others like husaini todi or madhmad or shankara i haven't been able to get a hold of. I was wondering whether you may know where i will be able to get hold of these! Thanks Nishad Matange
Siddharth Sahai comments : I cannot access any of the audio links on the site, please help.....It's too tempting to resist. Thanks
H Vyas comments : Dear Colleague, Absolutely superb. Is there any chance one could get the entire version of Bhimsen Joshi and Rasid Khan singing Raga Shankara? With many thanks for enlightening us. Harish
Parmjeet Singh Sarkar comments : Dear Brother Ji - pl. corrify the adjective 'forgettable' into 'unforgettable' in ur declination here. Bhimsen Joshi has published some forgettable Shankaras in the 1980s. This cut of a traditional chestnut, so jAnu re, passes muster. Keep your ears peeled for the brush with teevra madhyam (a la Shuddha Kalyan), first heard ~ 0:34 into the clip -
