Return to the article Jai Patel comments : Also, being that we are not unified as a an ethnic group, I see that Hindus are not so united in USA too. Alot of young Hindus, including myslef, don't know much about their religion. Maybe it's because the Hindu temple isn't so efficient (lack of better word) than like the Jewish temple or the Catholic church. From going to a Catholic School all my life, I tend to see from this perspective: The Hindu Temple unfortunately, are not thinking about the future of Indian Americans so much. Why are so many Indian AMericans now have non-vegetarian diets, and speak very little of any Indian language? In comparison to the Jewish temple, many young Jews know Hebrew, but many young Hindus, unfortunately me too, don't know Hindi. I think the whole "not keeping cohesion of the believers" in USA of the Hindu religion has spilled over to the entire ethnic group of Indian Americans.
