i strongly belive what ever you said is true..the next generation that we see right now is so much different then what they used to be..computers have taken over most of the things. simple things like letter writing is replaced by e mails..it seems like most just want to finish fast so they have more time to make their 1st million..paise ke bhagdaud ne insaan ko nikaama kar diya hai.. yes money is imp but at what cost..we are forgeting that we need to live our life also and not just earn money..people work hard to earn big bucks.. but at the end of the day they are so tired that the family time.. the quality time that they are supposed to have has changed in to ''i am to tired tonight'' and every night is the same.. and books..yes who reads all that kind of books.. peole want to read ''stuff'' that will help them make more money.. who wants to read about what happened 50 years ago in war for freedom.. it is a done deal we are free so why bother now reading all that stuff...status is very imp now a days.. who drives what car. what kind of jewellery one wears..who shopps where..material things have taken over heart and mind of all it seems..love and passion for life no longer exisist..like you say romance is no longer pursued in same manner as it was a while back..now a days romance is dinner and a movie.. who has time for those long romantic walks.. hand in hand..it reminds me of a poem i used to read in 9th grade..it is one of my fav poem but i do not recall the authour's name.. it goes like..
what is this life full of care.. we have no time to stand and stare..
yes who has time.. time is money now a days..every minute spend doing things other then making money is waste of time for them.. the real charm of life.. the real romance in life is lost somewhere in the money jungle...do we stand and look at life any time..if not then i think one should at least then they will realise what they are missing out really in life then just few lakhs to complete their 1st million....i always belive life is short live it to its fullest.. it has soo much to offer why not take the oppertunity to feel good about it and at the same time do what one needs to do to survive after all we do earn money to survive but not at the cost of life it self.. if one is not enjoying life.. if one is alwyas tired then what is the point of earning so much money when one is not abel to enjoy it.. so many think.. oh i will enjoy in my retirment. who has seen that day.. life for today..enjoy life go out hear the birds singing..look at the trees..feel the air..open your heart to others to love and see how much you get back in return.. we all wait for some one to do all this someone to take the 1st stepp why wait.. take one your self then see what happens next.. pehle app pehle app mai gadi chut na jaye..shayad yahi ho raha hai..
politicians in india are of totally diff breed i must say that.. most of them are corrupt.. even when their is a disaster people what to make money off that..when the earthquake happend in gujrat i wanted to reach out and help my people but i knew no matter how much moeny i send it will nto reach the needy people..to many ''khadas'' in middle..i ended up sending money to my fnrds who made sure the family in need was helped by that money..and it was not just a pocket money for someone..and now a days it seems like tom dick and harry can become a politician in india..why not improve quality of schools in india.. build some more school and collages then wasting money in making temples..every child has god within them so why build a temple by building a school you have more gods then just one temple.. and i always belive god is within us..you can pray to him by just closing your eyes also..and you dont have to spend millions of dollers..very recently.. just where i live they spend 9 mill $ on building a temple..at the same time they could have helped indian children with some of that money.. god do not look at what kind of marbel they have used in making of the temple.. but the same money could have been used to make school for those who do not have money to pay fees.. or may be donate it to a health facility.. that way they would have been helped more then any thing.. unko duva ke nahi dava ke zarurat hai.. duva to woh khud bhi mangte hai.. dava ke leye paise nahi hai..
go out look at life enjoy it while it last..after all we only get one life to live.. live it to its fullest..
thks bp:)
Arya Raychaudhuri comments : The sense of Romance is different in the west. Unlike what we may want it to be, a non-linear phenomenon of the heart, it is, at best, a piece-wise- linear approximation. Somewhat segmented, sampled, digitized. The feeling of total communication is missing. That's why an eastern lover can make a "fallen woman" feel elevated, while a western playboy makes a regular woman feel like a prostitute. However, there are exceptions to the general feeling. For example, see Bridges of the Madison County.

Sunanda Vashisht comments : Dear all It was indeed very encouraging to read all the comments about the article. It sure does feel nice that one is not alone and there are many out there who still believe in the idea of 'Romance'. As Bheegi Palke has very rightly remarked that we get only one life to live. Let us make most of it. Instead of focussing on Millions let us focus on improving the quality of life intellectually and spiritually too. By the way, Thanks Arya for recommending'Bridges of Madison County' I haven't seen the movie but I have read the book, infact I have read it several times from cover to cover. It is indeed a very touching story and makes you believe that there still are people who would do anything for love of their life. Thanks everyone for reading the article and for such encouraging words. Sunanda
Do Something For Country comments : i want to say only one thing to the today's generations that do something for your country so that your name live long in the world (like Bhagat Singh,Rajguru,Sukhdev)
"Jab hum aaye is jagat mein jagat hassa hum roye, kuch aisaa kar jayenge hum hassein jag roye..."
Gail Hart comments : Thank you for the inspiration. I, myself, am writing a novel based on a true life love tragedy. We need more people in this niche belief to bring love back into the world. We need to help people to believe again.
Your words have encouraged me to carry on and I thank you.
Ram comments : Ms. Sunanda, After reading your thoughts, I am very happy to note that there are still people who think like me - about the state of affairs in our country. I am glad you have taken time to present them to the world. Let us hope that things will get better and our youth will realise that 'money' is not everything in the world and will come to learn and appreciate our history, culture and heritage. More than anything else, I hope the sacrifices made by our forefathers will come to make a bearing on their minds and help shape their thinking. Thanks again. Ram
Michael Israel comments : I commend your full filled spirit for it moved me greatly. I am also a writer and you have showed me that keeping my writings a secret was a grave mistake that i can move the world and i will. thank you sincerely
Eileen comments : It is good to see your Spirit so strong Sister. Keep speaking your wisdom! A good life is one of balance....
G. V. Raju comments : Your article is really inspiring...thanks for writing such a good article.
Sahil comments : In other words you might say that the youth of today believe in hard work and enterprise, are eager to learn new skills, know the dfference between empty sloganeering and armchair lectures and actually changing things, by going out there and starting businesses, creating jobs etc. Unlike the youth of yesteryear they aren't willing to be misled by all our left-wing politicians. That means people like Mr Karat of the communists will soon be history. If this is all true, then this is the most positive article I have ever read...the future is bright.
