I understand the following movie songs are based on Kedar:

hum ko man ki shakti dena, man vijaye kare... (Guddi, Vani Jairam)

&

darshan do ghansyaam nath mori ankhiyaaN pyaasi re.... (Hemant/?)

Am I right?

Thanks and Namashkaar,
Pradip

Thanks for giving us so much. but i dont understand why do you say Great Ustad Ali Akbar Khan just Mr. Ali Akbar Khan

(Mr. Ali Akbar Khan with Dr. Rajan P. Parrikar (Marin County, California, 1995. )

"Incidentally, there is an illegitimate Kedar offspring called Kedar Bhankar mothered by Vilayat Khan (of the "Mommy-mommy-I-didn't-get-the-Bharat-Ratna" fame). It is a measure of my humanity that I choose not to foist that atrocity on my dear readers."

Dear Mr. Parrikar,
I was really shocked by your statement presented below, it is totally unprofessional and shameful when it comes from someone who claims to be an Indian classical music critic such as you.
There is no need to present ustad vilayat khan's contribution to hindustani music...if you have any doubts about that, please ask to "great ustad ali akbar khan" himself....(and in fact, ustad ali akbar khan is great, no doubts about that...).
Sad and shameful ... above all sad because totally disrespectuous...
Have you forgotten the sens of respect? Are you able to separate a musical contribution of some master and his own private life and personal choices?
From a "knowledgable" person like you, just shameful...
Apart of that, your work is interesting...
Regards,
Houzefa

I'm not sure what this line means: 'There is a recent release of Bhimsen Joshi's Maluha Kedar. He is completely out of his depth there, alas.'
I'm listening to it right now and its perfect.

Shawn comments :
Mahula Kedar by Pandit Bhimsen Joshi is wonderful,
