Listen To Your Inner Best Friend
Roopa Belur comments : Zahra, thank you for writing such a wonderful article for us. Not only is the article short and sweet, but also very inspiring and relevant in this day and age.
I am not sure if the topics connect, but your article evoked some "solitary" thoughts in me :-)
I feel the understanding of the inner self is often accomplished in Solitude. Solitude is a state of mind that helps you understand who you are, a form that enables you to retain your identity and originality. Being alone is not being lonely; it an attempt to wander, observe, and learn about your Self in the vastness of your mind. It is a conversation with your feelings, likes and dislikes, joy and sorrow, and your moods - a journey that leads to realization and enlightenment.
Solitude is intense and creative; it is freedom. It is silence - you can hear your breath and yet listen to the clamor of the world behind you. It is a rhythm of thoughts, and a flow of perceptions.
As Robert Cecil says, "Solitude shows us what should be; society shows us what we are."
Regards, Roopa |
